Commissioned Sewing Table

This commissioned sewing table is based off of a desk I designed and built last year. The top is comprised of two pieces of reclaimed heart pine salvaged from a Downtown Durham renovation project that has been planed, sanded and sealed using natural shellac. The base is constructed of new oak and is stained and sealed with danish oil.

I love the table. It looks like seriously thick lumber. I have recently been trying to find old wood chisels to polish and hone so I can start making a couple of bench/coffee tables.
